What is Week of the Young Child (WOYC)?
WOYC is a week long celebration focusing on the needs of young children, families, and early childhood educators. It highlights the importance of high-quality early learning through daily themed activities—Music Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Work Together Wednesday, Artsy Thursday, and Family Friday—designed to foster child development. The McKinley County Early Childhood Coalition, in collaboration with other local early childhood coalitions and programs, will participate throughout the Week of the Young Child, and host "Kick Off Friday" to begin the week long events on Friday, April 10, 2026 in Gallup, New Mexico. The Week of the Young Child events will be hosted in the NW NM regions.
